Terms and Conditions

Last updated: October 22, 2025

These terms and conditions ("Terms") apply to all purchases, registrations, and use of the digital service Veault ("Service") offered via www.veault.com. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

1) About Us

Veault is a secure digital vault portal for managing personal information and documents.

The service is offered by:

Leval AS

Asperholen 58A

4329 Sandnes

Norway

Org.number: 935 999 170

Email: contact@veault.com

2) Service Description

Veault provides a secure digital vault where you can manage and store confidential information and documents. The core of our Service is a zero-knowledge architecture.

This includes:

  • Zero-Knowledge Encryption: All content you store in your vault is encrypted on your device (client-side) with AES-256 encryption before it's sent to our servers. Veault does not have access to encryption keys and cannot view or decode the contents of your vault in any way.

  • File Uploads: The ability to securely upload and store documents and other files in your encrypted vault.

  • Encrypted Drafts: Functionality for storing draft versions, which are also directly encrypted client-side.

3) Account & Access

To use the Service, you need to create an account with a valid email address. You are responsible for keeping your login details and vault password safe.

Due to our zero-knowledge architecture, we do not have access to your vault password. If you lose your password, we cannot recover it, and you may permanently lose access to your vault data.

4) No Legal Advice

Veault helps you organize your personal information and (if applicable) digital legacy, but it is not a legal or notarial product. The Service is no substitute for legal advice. Always consult a qualified professional for wills, testaments, or other legal matters.

5) Subscription Models and Payment

5.1) Free Trial

We offer a 30-day free trial. During this period, certain features, like data downloads, may be limited.

5.2) Paid Subscriptions

For full access to the Service, we offer various paid subscription models (such as Monthly, Annual, and Lifetime). The current and applicable prices for these subscriptions are clearly displayed on our website and at the time of purchase. Prices include VAT unless otherwise stated.

5.3) Payment

Payments are processed via our third-party provider Stripe. Veault does not store credit card or full payment details.

5.4) Management and Cancellation

You can manage your subscription yourself (upgrade, downgrade, or cancel) through your account portal.

6. Legal Right of Withdrawal and Commercial Warranty

6.1. Legal Right of Withdrawal (Cooling Off)

As a consumer within the EU/EEA, you have the legal right to withdraw from an online purchase within 14 days without giving any reason.

6.2. Exception to the Right of Withdrawal (Loss of Right)

You acknowledge that the Service (Veault) is a digital service provided to you immediately after purchase. By completing the purchase and accepting these Terms (as required in Stripe's checkout process):
a) you expressly agree that we begin the execution of the agreement immediately (i.e., directly granting access to the Service); and
b) you expressly acknowledge that as a result of this immediate execution, you lose your 14-day legal right of withdrawal.

6.3. Commercial Money-Back Guarantee

Apart from the above, we offer a commercial 30-day money-back guarantee that applies only to the Lifetime subscription. If you are not satisfied within 30 days of purchasing a Lifetime subscription, you can request a full refund by emailing contact@veault.com.

7) Data Collection and Privacy

Your privacy matters. For a full and detailed explanation of how we collect, use, and protect data and what rights you have, please refer to our separate Privacy Statement, which is an integral part of these Terms. Below is a summary:

7.1) Account Information

To manage your account, we collect: Email address, first and last name, language preference, market information, and subscription status.

7.2) Vault Data (Zero-Knowledge)

All content you input or upload to your vault is client-side encrypted. We cannot decrypt or view this data.

7.3) Payment Information

Invoice information and payments are handled by Stripe.

8) Third-Party Services

We use the following external services:

  • Stripe: For processing payments and managing subscriptions.

  • Brevo: For sending emails (transactional, support, and marketing).

  • Vemetric: For privacy-friendly analysis of website traffic (no cookies, no PII, GDPR-compliant).

9) Data Storage and Security

All data is stored within the EU region. We employ a strict zero-knowledge architecture and apply 'enterprise-grade' security measures.

10) Email Communication

We use your email for necessary communications (login codes, subscription updates), support, and (if you opt-in) optional marketing.

11) User Rights

Among other things, you have the right to download your vault data, update your profile, and permanently delete your account. A complete overview of your rights can be found in our Privacy Statement.

12) Key Privacy Features

  • No tracking cookies: We don’t use cookies without consent for tracking or advertising. See our cookie policy for more information.

  • Privacy-friendly Analytics: Our analysis via Vemetric does not require explicit consent.

  • Client-side Encryption: We cannot read your content.

13. Liability

Veault is designed with utmost care and security. Our liability is excluded, unless otherwise prescribed by mandatory law:

  • Loss of access to the vault due to forgetting or losing the password.

  • Errors or omissions in the data you enter yourself.

  • Failures or interruptions of the Service outside our reasonable control (force majeure).

Our total liability is, to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, limited to the amount you have paid for the Service in the twelve (12) months preceding the event causing the liability, or, in the case of a Lifetime subscription, the total purchase amount.

This limitation of liability does not apply in cases of intent, gross negligence (gross fault) on our part, or in case of damage to life, body, or health.

14. Sustainability, Modification, and Termination of the Service

14.1. Sustainability 'Lifetime'

For 'Lifetime' subscriptions, we aim for sustainable, long-term storage of your data. A portion of the one-time payment is reserved in a fund intended to cover the operational hosting costs of the Service in the future.

14.2. Modification and Termination

We reserve the right to improve, modify, or, in extreme cases (such as bankruptcy or a fundamental change in market conditions), discontinue the Service.

Should the Service ever fully stop, we will endeavor to notify you in good time (at least 3 months in advance, if reasonably possible) and provide you with the opportunity to export all your vault data in a downloadable format.

15. Intellectual Property

All technology, designs, and content of Veault remain the intellectual property of Leval AS. As a customer, you are granted a personal, non-transferable right of use for the duration of your subscription.

16. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

This agreement is governed by Norwegian law.

However, if you are a consumer residing in another country within the European Union (EU) or European Economic Area (EEA), this choice of law does not affect the protection afforded to you by mandatory provisions of consumer law in your country of residence.

Disputes are preferably resolved amicably. If not possible, disputes will be submitted to the competent court in Norway, without prejudice to your right as a consumer to submit a dispute to the competent court in your own residence (within the EU/EEA).

17. Questions

If you have questions about these terms, feel free to email us at contact@veault.com. We’re happy to help.
